RECOGNITION

Re: DENTISTRY BUILDING - JAMES COOK UNIVERSITY, CAIRNS
As the new Dentistry Building is now complete, we would like to convey our compliments to you and your office for a job well done on the Engineering Services. The project was completed ahead of time and below budget. Some interesting facts on costings show the following economies in the Structural design.
Total project cost $20M (incl gst).
Structural/Civil works less than 20%. An excellent outcome. The total variations relating to the Engineering Services during construction amounted to less than 0.40% of the contract sum, which is a good indication of the high quality of your documentation. Construction phase services were handled well, with timely responses to contractor queries. The structure is also minimal on the floor plates allowing future flexibility of use by the University down the track – which was an important item in the brief. The external attachments form a vital ingredient to the building design, and the light weight appearance of the steel sunscreens is expressed in clean and minimalist detailing.
Thanks again for a great outcome. Always a pleasure to work with you guys.
Regards,

ST ANDREWS CATHOLIC COLLEGE REDLYNCH VALLEY
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN
I write to congratulate Flanagan Consulting Group for their outstanding design of our College. Their company has been responsible for the Engineering design since 2000.
Aesthetically, we are pleased with every aspect of the design, it is second to none, and in terms of functionality it meets our needs in every way.
The design lends itself to serve the ecological needs of the environment, providing natural cooling shade, and further to this, the design provides a strategy for water conservation and wise usage of water.
Flanagan Consulting Group has my highest commendations and we look forward to working with them in the future years.
Flanagan Consulting Group under the leadership of Pat Flanagan has always provided the best of professional support for our College.
Those who visit our college constantly commend us on its modern design and the way it serves us in our tropical climate.

Cairns Local Group
Project of the Year 2010
MOORES GULLY
Flanagan Consulting Group proposed an alternative approach to the existing treatment of Moores Gully through the Bluewater development at Trinity Beach, Cairns. The redesign provided an alternative solution to the flood mitigation, and involved improved conveyance of flood waters through the development rather than a lake retention solution which had been proposed by the original Project Consultants. The alternative design provided the project with improved commercial and environmental outcomes.

NORTH SHORE BOULEVARD - TOWNSVILLE
I write to congratulate Seymour Whyte and Flanagan Consulting Group for successfully completing the North Shore Boulevard Project under an Early Constrictor Involvement ( ECI ) contract.
As you are aware, at the time of award in 2009, the ECI process was a new innovation and delivery method for Townsville City Council. The Project was delivered professionally, successfully, on time and substantially under the agreed budget.
Throughout the two year project, the team in collaboration with Council, worked hard to design and construct the project to meet Council's and the adjacent Developer's requirements. Seymour Whyte and Flanagan Consulting Group committed appropriately skilled resources, performed commendably, and have clearly demonstrated the value of the ECI delivery model through their positive client relationship and successful completion of the Project. We have delivered a quality asset to Townsville.
Thank you for the efforts of your team in delivering the North Shore Boulevard Project.
Your Sincerely
Brenden Quabba
