Townsville - JCU Discovery Rise

                        Statutory Planning

 

Client - James Cook University

Project Achievements - While the project is currently in progress, the following has been achieved to date:  A Technical Working Group, comprising key government stakeholders, has been established to guide and inform the process; an “Enquiry-by-Design” technical workshop has been held; and a comprehensive Opportunities and Constraints Analysis Report has been prepared.   

James Cook University (JCU), Australia’s leading tropical research university, intends developing a portion of the land which contains their Douglas Campus in Townsville. 

Flanagan Consulting Group is providing statutory planning services to JCU for the future development of the Douglas Campus, in a Project known as Discovery Rise.  The Discovery Rise Project is aimed at creating an integrated academic, residential and commercial community that will revitalize the Douglas Campus.
