Project Achievements -

 

          Unique preassembled ‘bolt on’ screens 

            &  sunhoods erected seamlessly  

            through a pre-fabricated cladding system

 

    A complicated transfer roof system, linking different level roofs;

 

   A cantilevering concrete stair landing supporting a hanging wall and roof;

 

    An innovative unjointed basement wall.

 

    High Commendation Award for Project of the Year at the 2010 Cairns Local Group Excellence Awards.

This award winning training facility at the Cairns campus of James Cook University ( JCU ), includes a world-class clinical simulation laboratory plus prosthodontics, anatomy and microbiology facilities. 

The building was completed ahead of time and under budget.  Many engineering innovations and challenges were involved, including a stunning 9m high feature glazing frame with stairs cantilevering off the inside and an innovative steel roof truss system integrated with a perimeter column and eve framing system.
